Kirk Hardy


Kirk is a former New Zealand Police Drug Squad Detective. In this role Kirk was involved in investigating national and international drug syndicates and targeting organised crime groups.

He left the Police in early 2005 to set up The Drug Detection Agency as the first true on-site drug testing provider. Within 5 years TDDA became the market leader in New Zealand for drug and alcohol testing, education service and property methamphetamine screening.  In February 2011 Kirk established TDDA in Australia.

To date the Drug Detection Agency has 40 businesses operating under The Drug Detection Agency brand throughout Australia and New Zealand, including a dedicated drug-testing Laboratory.

Kirk regularly presents at international conferences as an expert on drug and alcohol use in the South Pacific and the ever-developing drug market.

In 2012 Kirk was appointed a Board member of DATIA ‘Drug and Alcohol testing industry association’.

Callum MacDonald

Callum is the principal of Buchanan Macdonald Chartered Accountants, a prominent North Shore Chartered Accounting and business advisory firm. Previously he spent a number of years in an international Chartered Accounting firm after a period working in a large District Health Board. Callum splits his time between client advice, directorships, advisory board roles, trusteeships (including Auckland Volunteer Coastguard Charitable Trust and Capri Hospital Charitable Trust) and Court expert witness work. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Institute of Directors.


Nick Lovegrove

Nick is a Partner at Burton Partners – a specialist corporate and property law firm in Auckland. Nick’s expertise is in corporate/commercial law and includes extensive experience in franchising and licensing. He is a member of the New Zealand Law Society and the Institute of Directors. Away from the office he spends time with his young family and enjoys cycling, golf, fishing and tennis.


Dame Julie Christie

Media consultant Julie was the founder of Touchdown Productions, the leading New Zealand television production company she sold to Dutch media group, Eyeworks, in early 2006. Specialising in formats for the international markets, she licensed programs to 30 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

Julie was made an Officer of The New Zealand Order of Merit for services to film and television and was the 2008 Veuve Clicquot New Zealand Businesswoman of The Year. More recently, Julie was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2017 and received ONZM for services to governance and the television industry. Her most recent venture is investing in New Zealand and Australian franchises of The Drug Detection Agency.

As well as being a board member of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Julie sits on the commercial committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union and on the New Zealand Story Advisory Group. She is also a board member of Mediaworks.


Armin Kiani

Armin is TDDA Omega¹s head of Toxicology, Research and Laboratory Services. Armin has a Bachelor honours in Analytical Chemistry and has more than 17 years, experience in the industry which includes forensic drugs and toxicology. He has also worked in commercial environments which include urine, oral fluid, serum and hair analysis.

Armin is a proud member of Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Society of Hair Testing (SOHT), European Workplace Drug Testing (EWDTS), British Mass Spectroscopy Society (BMSS), LTG (formerly the London toxicology Group) and The International Association of Forensic Toxicologist (TIAFT). Armin is also a member of the standard Australian expert committees for both AS/NZS 4308 and AS4760 standards.
