Urine Drug Testing
Urine testing allows the employer to identify employees who are at risk of being impaired at work because of drug use, and who are therefore a potential hazard in the workplace.
This testing may indicate the use of drugs by an employee a sufficient time before commencement or recommencement of work, or use either at work or outside of work hours.
In March 2008, the Standard AS/NZS 4308:2008 was released after TDDA had submitted public comment in respect of on-site screening. Over the ensuing years TDDA worked hard ensuring compliance to the drug testing Standard and in August 2010 became the first workplace drug testing company in New Zealand to have received International Accreditation of New Zealand (IANZ) ISO 15189 accreditation to the AS/NZS 4308:2008 drug testing Standard. Proving our dedication and quality to our customers, TDDA went on to have each of our 20 offices around New Zealand independently accredited by IANZ under ISO 15189. Making TDDA the only truly nationally accredited organisation throughout New Zealand.
In 2011 TDDA expanded into Australia, after strong demand from our clients to have the same high quality service for their Trans Tasman operations. To ensure we met our clients expectations TDDA worked hard to replicate our systems and processes and were pleased to announce gaining further accreditation from the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) within our Australian operations.
This has been significant for both TDDA and our clients, as we are now the only New Zealand and Australian drug testing provider to have received accreditation from both IANZ and NATA respectively for both AS/NZS 4308:2008 (NZ, Aus) and AS 4760-2006 (Aus) drug testing Standards.
TDDA uses a urine screening device which has verification under ‘Appendix B’ of the AS/NZS 4308:2008 Standard and we believe this device is the best on the market for quick and reliable identification of ‘at risk’ employees in the workplace.
Being fully compliant with the above Standard involves TDDA conducting daily controls at each collecting site as well as subsequently where required. Your company can be assured that the drug testing TDDA conducts is in strict accordance with the Standard, we have the accreditation to back this up.
Urine testing is now well established and has the greatest range of detectable drugs together with the biggest database of non-reacting substances.
Note: please refer to the IANZ and NATA website for full accreditation details.
