Errol and Tracy Brain – General Managers
Tracy and I have been part of the TDDA team since December 2013. Before then we were fortunate to travel the world coaching and or playing rugby.
We are proud to help TDDA clients create “Drug Free Environments” in the beautiful Bay of Plenty/The Lakes region.
Kevin McFarlane – Operations Manager
I joined TDDA in 2008 after 15 years with the NZ Police. I had a varied and interesting time in the police and gained first-hand knowledge of the massive harm that drugs & alcohol can impose in our society. The transition to TDDA has allowed me to make positive changes to people in the Bay of Plenty with drug & alcohol issues as well as making our workplaces safer for everybody.
I enjoy working with local businesses in providing a first class service together with the rest of our team. TDDA have been the pioneers in many ways in this industry and it has been rewarding to be a part of it from the early days to where is stands today.
I play and coach soccer in my spare time and have two young children and a 12 year old son. The Bay of Plenty Steamers are now my adopted Rugby Team (I’m from Taniwha country – Whangarei) and I enjoy raising a family and living in Tauranga.
TDDA Bay of Plenty and The Lakes operates between three clinics in the Mount Maunganui, Rotorua and Taupo regions specialising in all aspects of workplace drug & alcohol testing, policy development and education.
With 14 staff and six vans on the road across all three regions, we have a wealth of expertise within our team allowing us to work with a diverse range of clients over various industries.
We are very fortunate to have the Port of Tauranga here in the Mount and do a lot of work in the forestry industry throughout the Eastern Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and the Taupo regions. We also work with an array of transport, manufacturing and construction companies. During summer, we do a lot of work in the kiwifruit industry here in the Bay as well as with a number of companies that support that industry.
Our drug and alcohol testing methodologies include urinalysis, oral fluid and hair samples. Over the last 12 months, we have seen a marked increase in hair testing, not only in the family court and Government department space but also with companies using it as the matrix of choice when doing pre-employment testing due to its ability to identify long-term, consistent drug use and therefore risk.
